Film Photography

HOME   ABOUT ME

Film photography is a hobby of mine. I find it much more exciting than digital. Thereโ€™s more at risk on film than with digital: a roll of film is finite, there are only 36 shots, you need to make a careful decision to hit the shutter. Film requires patience, attention, a good eye, and good timing. Thereโ€™s a suspense that comes with the process of developing and a lot of excitement that comes with seeing the final roll. The final images often leave you pleasantly surprised (and sometimes utterly disappointed).

Two of my favorite photographers are Richard Kern and Blake Kunin.

I take photos using the Kyocera Yashica T4 Zoom. You can see a good review of this camera here. I typically use Ilford FP4 black and white film. There are many different kinds of film you can experiment with to get a different effect, but this one is my favorite.

Below you can see a selection of photos Iโ€™ve taken.
